Indian Railway Health Service Association – N.F. Railway (IRHSA-NFR) is the professional body of Railway Medical Officers and Dental Surgeons serving under Northeast Frontier Railway. The Association promotes academic excellence, continuing medical education, and professional collaboration to strengthen healthcare services across the region. Through scientific exchange and organized initiatives, IRHSA-NFR remains committed to advancing quality healthcare within the Railway system and beyond
President’s Message: Embracing Our New Identity
Dear Members and Colleagues,
It is my privilege to welcome you to the official digital home of the Indian Railway Health Service Association – Northeast Frontier Railway branch (IRHSA-NFR)
We are currently at a historic juncture in the evolution of our service. As part of the transformational organizational restructuring approved by the Union Cabinet, the erstwhile Indian Railway Medical Service (IRMS) has been officially renamed the Indian Railway Health Service (IRHS). This change was necessitated by the unification of other railway services into a single Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS).
In alignment with this national change, our previous body—the Indian Railway Medical Services Association (IRMSA)—has been dissolved. To reflect our updated professional identity and continue our mission of advancing medical excellence, the formation of this new body, the IRHSA-NFR, became essential.
While our name has changed, our core purpose remains steadfast:
- Professional Advocacy: Serving as the unified voice for railway doctors across N F Railway.
- Fraternal Support: Maintaining the honour and dignity of the medical profession within the N.F. Railway family.
- Commitment to Care: Ensuring that our rebranding leads to even more efficient health care delivery for the millions of railway employees and retirees we serve.
I call upon every member of the N.F. Railway branch to embrace this new identity with pride. Let us unite together under the IRHSA-NFR banner to further the legacy of the Indian Railways.
